MILITARY STEEL PLATES
Our military steel Dog Tags with turned edges are made from 304L stainless steel, whose main property is that it does not oxidize. This means you can take showers without any restrictions with this type of Dog Tag. Just as you can swim in the sea without fear of oxidation. However, rinse with fresh water after bathing in seawater to avoid alkaline deposits on the surface.
Worn every day, this material requires no special maintenance. For matt stainless steel, in extreme cases such as a Mud Day for example: scrub with a cream or scouring powder, then rinse with clean water and dry. Otherwise, for shiny stainless steel: soap, water and sponge. White vinegar may also be used on encrusted marks.
NOTE ABOUT NICKEL
Our Dog Tag military plates are made from X2CrNi18-09 or X2CrNi18-10 stainless steel according to European classification EN 10027. At most, this steel contains between 9 and 11% nickel. To avoid any risk of allergies, and in compliance with European and French directives on nickel release on contact with the skin, we have tested these Dog Tag military plates. They have been certified by an independent body in accordance with standards NF EN 12472 and NF EN 1811, concluding that the samples supplied release less than 0.5 µg/cm2 per week. Tests carried out in France on samples imported from the USA by two manufacturers on October 25, 2010 and August 27, 2013.
